Take up of mobile services surpassed landline services in 2012 when the latter dropped 5.6%, which is exceptionally fast considering the annual decline in landline penetration between 20 was 3.0%. Landline and mobile penetration data show alternating trends over the last decade. In 2004, landline-only households (40.0%) far outpaced their mobile-only counterparts (2.7%).
